Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my Google Place ID?
Open Google's Place ID Finder, search for your business and click your listing on the map. The ID shows in the pop-up and usually starts with ChIJ. You can also paste a g.page/r/.../review link from your Google Business Profile instead.
What happens when a customer scans the code?
It opens the write-a-review box for your business in Google Maps or Search. The customer must be signed in to a Google account to post. The code holds the link itself, so it keeps working as long as the link does.
Can I offer a discount for a review?
No. Google's policy does not allow paying for reviews or offering incentives in exchange for them. Ask politely after a finished job, make it easy with the code, and let customers write what they want.
What size should the review QR code be on a truck or invoice?
Large enough to scan from where people stand. About 2 cm (0.8 in) is a practical minimum, and bigger is better on a truck or a yard sign. Keep strong contrast between the code and its background and test a printout with a phone.
