Frequently asked questions

When should I ask an HVAC customer for a review?
Soon after the visit, while the cool air or the warm house is still fresh in their mind. The same day or the next day tends to work well. A short reminder a few days later is fine, but do not keep sending messages.
Can I give a discount or a gift for a review?
No. Google does not allow offering incentives in exchange for reviews, and that includes discounts and gifts. Thank customers for their time instead and ask them to share an honest experience.
Should I send the link only to customers I think are happy?
Google's guidelines tell businesses not to selectively ask only for positive reviews. Ask every customer you served the same way, and use unhappy feedback to fix the problem and improve your service.
Do I need permission to text customers?
In most cases, yes. A text that asks for a review can count as marketing, and marketing texts generally need the customer's consent. Get a clear yes when you book or finish the job, and let people reply STOP. This is general information, not legal advice.
